Questions before you start

Straight answers to the practical questions.

Do I need an accountant?+

This will depend on your unique circumstances. Generally, if you earn income that is not taxed at source (that is, via PAYE or RWT), you will need to file a tax return to let Inland Revenue know about this income. KGA offers a complimentary new client meeting, and if you do not need an accountant, the team will tell you.

I’m changing accountants. Is the process difficult?+

Usually, no. Once you have decided to work with KGA, the team coordinates the transfer of the relevant accounting information and records from your previous accountant.

Can you help me reduce my tax?+

KGA can help you manage your tax affairs efficiently and ensure you are claiming legitimate deductions and using appropriate structures. The focus is on practical, compliant tax planning rather than simply dealing with tax after the financial year has ended.

Can you prepare my annual accounts and tax returns?+

Yes. Preparing annual financial statements and tax returns is a core part of KGA’s accounting services. The team will work with you to gather the necessary information, prepare your accounts, and ensure the appropriate returns are filed.

Can you help if my accounts are behind?+

Yes. If your bookkeeping, GST returns, annual accounts or other financial records have fallen behind, KGA can help you get everything back up to date and establish a more manageable process going forward.

What tax returns can KGA help with?+

KGA supports income tax, GST, FBT and PAYE returns, along with financial statements, provisional tax and communication with Inland Revenue.

Will I know when the work will be completed?+

KGA schedules work and provides a completion date so clients can plan with more confidence.

How does KGA price accounting work?+

Every job is quoted. If the scope needs to increase, KGA discusses the change and quotes the additional work before proceeding.
